MassageMassage, or muscle work, is a system of manipulating, pressing and kneading areas of the body to relieve pain and pressure, relax, stimulate and tone the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments). Massage stimulates blood circulation and assists the lymphatic system (which runs parallel to the circulatory system), improving the elimination of waste throughout the body.

It also reduces recovery time, spasms, cramping and adhesions and increases flexibility and range of motion.

Massage provides relief to people of all ages, from infants to seniors, and from all walks of life, the weekend or competitive athlete to the gardener, pregnant and overstressed or overworked person. Although a single massage will be enjoyable and may provide some relief, the effects of massage are cumulative and a course of massage treatments will bring the most benefits. Regular massage can have the effect of strengthening and toning the entire body therefore helping to prevent unnecessary strains and injuries that might otherwise occur due to excess tension or stress, therefore resulting in structural weaknesses.

We have found that when chiropractic and massage work together, patients respond especially well to care.  The joints and muscles can work and relax together.

Our massage therapists are here to assist established patients with the doctor's treatment plan. When prescribed by your doctor as part of your treatment plan, in adjunct to your adjustment, massage therapy or muscle work may be covered by health insurance.

Back In Motion can verify your benefits and bill your insurance carrier, which may pay for part or all of your treatments. If it is not a covered benefit you can pay by cash, check or charge (our Time of Service fee is $40 for 60 minutes). Our office provides a 50 minute session, with 10 minutes for consultation and time to change.

Please note that Medicare does not cover massage therapy.
